Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to your hotel. Rest and recover from your journey. In the evening enjoy a welcome dinner and full trek briefing where your guide walks you through the exciting Langtang Valley Trek adventure ahead.

Depart Kathmandu by private vehicle for the scenic 7 to 8 hour drive to Syabrubesi, the starting point of the Langtang Valley Trek. Wind through terraced hillsides, river gorges, and traditional mountain villages. Arrive at Syabrubesi in the evening and settle into your teahouse.

Begin your Langtang Valley Trek on foot, crossing the Bhote Koshi river and climbing steadily through dense forests of oak, rhododendron, and bamboo. The trail follows the roaring Langtang Khola river upstream through dramatic gorges. Wildlife including langur monkeys and red pandas may be spotted along the trail. Approximately 6 to 7 hours.

The forest gradually gives way to open alpine meadows as you gain altitude. Pass through the settlements of Ghoda Tabela and Thangshyap with their ancient mani walls and prayer wheels. Arrive at Langtang Village, beautifully rebuilt after the devastating 2015 earthquake, with sweeping mountain panoramas all around. Approximately 6 hours.

Trek through wide open yak pastures and traditional Tamang settlements with Langtang Lirung dominating the skyline above. Pass cascading waterfalls and cross wooden bridges before arriving at Kyanjin Gompa, a sacred ancient monastery set against a dramatic backdrop of glaciers and towering Himalayan peaks. Approximately 4 to 5 hours.

A vital rest and acclimatisation day before the high altitude hike ahead. Visit the famous Kyanjin cheese factory, one of the oldest in Nepal, producing traditional yak cheese. Explore the ancient Kyanjin Gompa monastery and spin its sacred prayer wheels. Take a short hike toward Kyanjin Ri for stunning glacier and mountain views.

Begin the long descent back through the Langtang Valley, retracing your steps through yak pastures, ancient mani walls, and the rebuilt Langtang Village. The descending trail offers fresh perspectives of the valley you have come to love. The forest thickens as you drop altitude rapidly and arrive at the welcoming Lama Hotel. Approximately 6 to 7 hours.

Continue descending through the lush subtropical forest trail alongside the Langtang Khola river. The familiar sights, sounds, and scents of the lower forest trail bring a sense of warm nostalgia on your final trekking day. Arrive back at Syabrubesi and celebrate the completion of your Langtang Valley Trek with your guide. Approximately 5 to 6 hours.

Board your vehicle early morning for the scenic 7 to 8 hour return drive to Kathmandu through winding mountain roads and river valleys. Arrive in Kathmandu in the evening and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy a well deserved farewell dinner celebrating your incredible Langtang Valley Trek achievement with your team.
